World-wide day of Rosario

We are inviting all of you to
organize Rosary Groups in
your communities to join us
in this World-wide Day of the Rosaryy in it's eigth year.
The Pope said in Nigeria:
“My praise goes to all the
families that pray together. Christian families, the Pope is asking all of
you to nurture the habit of praying in family, the daily praying in
family. Husbands and wives together, parents and children. Have special
devotion to the Holy Rosary. Offer your prayers to Mary, Mother of Christ
and Mother of the Church, the Mother of the Catholic Families, seek Her
Intercession. God will not fail to bless the families that pray together in
the Name of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ”
In response to this petition from
the Pope to the christian families of the world, we are now inviting all
of you to organize rosary groups to join us in this great World-wide Day
of the Rosary 2002.
In previous years this event has
been carried out in stadiums, parks, churches, offices, homes, etc. in
more that 140 countries around the world.
Intentions for this day of prayer:
1-To ask for forgiveness and to be
forgive.
2-For the peace in the world, the
respect to human life and the family.
3-For the increase of our catholic
faith, that identify us as men and women striving for a better world, more
in accordance with the teaching of Jesus.
4-For the unity of the families
around the world in order to be an example of christian life between
parents and children and between our brothers and sisters in Christ.
5-For our particular countries
asking God for His blessings for our leaders and people and in particular
for the conversion of our societies to God.
6-For the Pope and the priest
asking God to grant for them the gifts of perseverance and fidelity to
their mission as leaders of the People of God.
7-For the increase of vocations to
the priesthood and to religious life.
8-For the Second Coming of Christ
and for all those people that commit themselves to the defence of the
values of the faith, the family, the human life.
9-Asking God to grant us the
Plenary Indulgences offered by the Church
Activities
It is desirable that the following
activities be implemented in this day:
1-The Consecration of the
World-wide day of the Rosary to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
2-Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament during the day.
3-Ask your parish priest to make
himself available to administer the Sacrament of Penance to the faithful
on that particular day.
4-To inform the faithful that by
praying the Rosary in community and according with instructions from the
Holy See, they can recibe the plenary indulgences offered by the Church in
this Jubilee Year. (Please ask your parish priest to explain how can you
obtain this plenary indulgence) .
5-A day of fasting and penance for
the forgiveness of our sins.
6-The Word-wide Day of the Rosary
should be seen as the starting point of a personal journey back to Christ.
It is recommended that as a follow up of this event, the parishes and
groups can organise a novena in families or in small Rosary Groups.
7-You are all invited to include
this world-wide day of the Rosary in your yearly calendars for the first
Saturday of October.
Suggestions for the people in
charge of organizing this event locally:
1-To name a representative of the
group.
2-To choose the place where they
are going to gather to pray the Rosary taking into consideration the
capacity of the place to hold more that the people that you are expecting
to attend.
3-Seek the approval of your Local
Bishop and/or your Parish Priest.
4-Invite all Laity and Religious
Movements in your locality to join in this World-wide Day of the Rosary.
5-To promote this event in
parishes bulletins, schools, universities, offices, shopping malls, TV,
radio, newspapers, etc.
The Holy Pope will begin the
Rosary at 20:00 hrs in Rome (local time) but you can pray at any hour
during the day because we will form a 24 hrs Rosary Chain around the world
